In October, Albania achieved an impressive 57% market share for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) among new passenger car registrations, despite its small market size of only 933 new vehicles and relatively low purchasing power compared to other European countries. This remarkable EV adoption rate places Albania among the global leaders in BEV market share. A key factor driving this trend is the influx of electric vehicles from China, particularly from BYD, which commands over 40% of the entire Albanian new vehicle market—not just the EV segment.
