BYD has introduced a new 240 kW (322 hp) TZ200XYAT motor across a broad range of its mainstream electric vehicles, marking a significant upgrade in power and architecture. This motor is designed for rear-wheel-drive (RWD) 800V platforms, representing both an architectural enhancement and a shift in the primary drive axle for several models. Notably, vehicles equipped with this motor are achieving higher power outputs while simultaneously reducing weight—for example, the Seal 06 GT hatchback’s top RWD model increases from 165 kW to 240 kW and drops nearly 190 kg (419 lbs) in weight.
