In January 2026, BYD experienced a significant decline in sales, with total new energy vehicle (NEV) deliveries dropping 30.7% year-over-year and 50.5% month-over-month. This downturn affected both battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), with BEV deliveries falling 33.6% compared to January 2025 and 56.3% compared to December 2025, marking the second worst monthly performance for BYD BEVs in three years.
