Canada has reached a preliminary trade agreement with China to substantially reduce tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles (EVs). Under the deal, Canada will allow up to 49,000 Chinese EVs to enter the country at a most-favored nation tariff rate of 6.1 percent, increasing to 70,000 vehicles by the fifth year.
