The first model to feature this innovation will be the Liefeng shooting brake under Chery’s premium Exeed brand, marking one of the earliest real-world applications of solid-state batteries in passenger EVs. The battery, developed by Chery’s Solid-State Battery Research Institute, boasts an energy density of 600 Wh/kg and uses a polymerized solid electrolyte with a lithium-rich manganese cathode, eliminating flammable liquid components common in conventional lithium-ion batteries.
