Chinese robotics company Agibot released a viral video featuring its humanoid robots performing synchronized kung fu moves alongside Shaolin monks at the historic Shaolin Temple. The clip highlights the robots’ balance, speed, and precision in martial arts, blending traditional Chinese cultural heritage with advanced artificial intelligence. This demonstration follows previous showcases of the Lingxi X2 humanoid robot performing complex gymnastics moves, illustrating the robot’s growing physical capabilities. The Lingxi X2 robot is powered by Agibot’s Genie Operator-1 (Go-1) AI model, which employs a zero-sample generalization technique allowing it to manipulate objects and execute tasks without prior training. This AI also enables multiple robots to coordinate movements seamlessly, as seen in the kung fu performance. The Go-1 model introduces “latent actions,” a method that helps robots interpret human movements by analyzing visual data, addressing the challenge of limited labeled training data for humanoid behavior. Filming the robots at the Shaolin Temple symbolically connects centuries-old martial
