Read original articleResearchers in China have successfully validated the YDHB-NS01, the country’s first domestically produced vascular robot designed for cerebral angiography, achieving a 100% technical success rate in a clinical trial at Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH). The trial involved 50 patients, with 25 procedures performed using the robotic system and 25 manually by a young neurosurgeon. The robot-assisted procedures reduced the average surgery time by 29%, from 38 minutes to 27 minutes, while maintaining comparable safety, image quality, and radiation exposure to the conventional manual approach. The robotic system allows surgeons to operate remotely from a shielded console, reducing physical strain and radiation risk.
