Chinese robotics company UniX AI has unveiled a humanoid home robot from its Panther series, designed to perform multi-step household tasks such as waking users, cooking meals, cleaning rooms, and organizing items. Standing about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 176 pounds, the robot operates on a wheeled omnidirectional base that enhances stability and energy efficiency, enabling it to navigate indoor spaces and narrow passages effectively. Equipped with dual robotic arms capable of lifting up to 26 pounds with high precision, the robot integrates advanced perception systems—including RGB and RGB-D cameras, optional 3D LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, and a six-microphone array—to recognize objects, interact with people, and carry out complex sequences of tasks. The robot’s ability to handle multi-step workflows distinguishes it from simpler automation devices, allowing it to perform routines such as waking a user, preparing breakfast, cleaning the kitchen, and organizing the living space.
