China has inaugurated its first high-capacity humanoid robot factory in Guangdong, capable of producing up to 10,000 units annually. This marks a significant transition from experimental to industrial-scale manufacturing in the country’s humanoid robotics sector. The facility, a collaboration between Leju Robotics and Dongfang Precision Science and Technology, features an advanced production line with 24 precision assembly stages and 77 inspection checkpoints, achieving a 50% efficiency improvement over traditional methods. Its flexible manufacturing system allows quick switching between different robot models to meet diverse industrial demands, such as automotive and home appliances. The partnership exemplifies a growing trend toward specialized contract manufacturing in robotics, where Leju Robotics handles design and software development, while Dongfang Precision manages large-scale production and after-sales support. Dongfang Precision’s 2.8% equity stake in Leju aligns their incentives and addresses the challenge of scaling advanced prototypes into reliable mass-produced robots. With this factory, Leju positions itself among leading global competitors, as others like
