Chinese startup Westlake Robotics has unveiled Titan 01, a humanoid robot powered by its proprietary General Action Expert (GAE) AI foundation model, which enables real-time imitation of human movements with high precision and fluidity. During a demonstration in Hangzhou, Titan 01 replicated an operator’s actions—including waving, turning, and kicking a ball—within milliseconds by using a motion-capture suit. The GAE model acts as a central coordination system akin to a "general-purpose cerebellum," allowing the robot to maintain balance, coordination, and smooth motion execution even with unpredictable movement changes. It can also adapt to different users and control multiple robots simultaneously, all performing synchronized tasks. The GAE model’s cross-embodiment capability allows it to be deployed across robots of varying sizes and designs, broadening its application potential. This approach marks a significant advancement in motion intelligence for humanoid and service robots by enabling them to learn physical tasks more naturally through observation rather than manual programming.
