Read original articleChinese robotics company Dobot has released the third batch of its full-size industrial humanoid robot, Atom, marking the start of mass production and delivery ahead of planned large-scale factory deployments by 2026. Recent footage from the delivery site showcases rows of ATOM robots performing synchronized bipedal walking, complex dance routines, and precise assembly tasks, demonstrating stable and repeatable movements in structured industrial environments. A deployed Atom robot at Terra Robotics has undergone practical testing, revealing mature technology capable of reliable gripping and task execution, though it still lacks autonomous intelligence and adaptive learning abilities.
Priced at approximately US$27,500 per unit, Atom features 28 degrees of freedom and dexterous five-fingered hands, enabling precise manipulation and human-like gait. Currently, upper-body control is VR-based while locomotion is autonomous or semi-constrained. Dobot is also developing a unified training platform that integrates hardware, software, and algorithms to accelerate robot learning and deployment across industrial, commercial, and home settings
