Chinese robotics firm EngineAI has unveiled its compact humanoid robot, PM01, demonstrating remarkable agility, stability, and control in a recent video. The robot showcases humanlike recovery abilities by absorbing impacts, instantly correcting its posture, and resuming motion seamlessly, even after being deliberately pushed off balance. Notably, PM01 performs controlled forward slips and front flips—maneuvers that are challenging due to the forward shift of the center of mass—executing them with coordinated arm swings, core stabilization, and precise landings. Its compact size, lower center of mass, and flexible joints contribute to efficient impact absorption and dynamic locomotion, setting it apart from larger humanoids that require more robust structural reinforcements. Designed primarily for research and development, the PM01 stands about 1.2 meters tall and weighs 17.6 pounds (8 kg) less than EngineAI’s full-sized SE01 model. It features a durable aluminum alloy exoskeleton, a bionic structure for natural human
