The five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) deal, initiated with a $54 million award and capped at $71 million, will deploy Gecko’s robots and software to monitor the condition of Navy ships, beginning with 18 vessels in the U.S. Pacific Fleet. These robots create detailed digital twins of each ship, enabling the Navy to proactively identify maintenance needs, reduce downtime, and cut costs by accelerating decision-making and repairs.
This partnership supports the Navy’s goal of achieving 80% ship readiness by 2027, addressing the current challenge where approximately 40% of the fleet is unavailable due to lengthy maintenance cycles costing between $13 billion and $20 billion annually.
