Gemini starts rolling out to Android Auto globally

Google has begun the global rollout of Gemini, its new conversational AI, to Android Auto, replacing Google Assistant in the smartphone projection system used in millions of vehicles. This update enables users to engage in natural, back-and-forth conversations to complete more complex tasks while driving. Gemini enhances Android Auto by allowing users to ask detailed questions about businesses along their route, receive personalized recommendations, and get additional information such as popular dishes or pet-friendliness. It also supports replying to and summarizing messages, translating texts, accessing Gmail emails, and creating customized music playlists from streaming services like YouTube Music and Spotify.
