To advance toward this goal, the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) conducted its first large-scale energy storage tender, awarding contracts totaling approximately 1.268 GW across four projects. Notable winners include Jupiter Power’s Trimount ESS, which will repurpose a former Exxon oil terminal in Everett into a clean energy hub, potentially deferring $2.2 billion in regional transmission upgrades.
