Next-gen robotic hands from China mimic human movement and grip

Chinese robotics startup LinkerBot, founded in 2023 by Alex Zhou Yong, has developed advanced robotic hands for humanoid robots that closely mimic human hand movements and grip capabilities. The company offers a range of dexterous hands with varying degrees of freedom—from the entry-level O6 model with 11 degrees of freedom to advanced models with about 20, comparable to human hands. These hands are lightweight yet powerful, with the O6 delivering a 50 kg grip force while weighing only 370 grams. LinkerBot has secured significant funding, including nearly $217 million in its recent Series B round, and counts major clients like Samsung Electronics, the University of Hong Kong, and Stanford University. The firm aims to produce one million dexterous hands to master an equivalent number of skills, spanning household to business applications. A key innovation from LinkerBot is LinkerSkillNet, a skill library that standardizes and transfers human skills—ranging from precise industrial tasks to medical procedures—ac
