Regionally, openness varies from 45% in Quebec to 24% in Alberta, mirroring general EV interest patterns. Among Canadians generally open to buying EVs, 70% show some interest in Chinese models. Overall, 51% of Canadians hold positive or neutral views about Chinese EVs, with 18% believing they are superior to current Canadian offerings, 32% seeing them as comparable, and only 21% considering them inferior.
The survey highlights a significant divide in perceptions between potential EV buyers and non-buyers: 71% of prospective EV purchasers view Chinese EVs favorably, compared to just 32% of those uninterested in EVs. Trevor Mel
