Several major European truck manufacturers—including Volvo, Scania, MAN, Daimler, IVECO, and Ford—have jointly lobbied the European Commission to weaken the EU’s truck CO2 emissions regulation. They propose amendments that would allow them to generate emissions credits, effectively reducing the stringency of emissions targets. According to analysis by Transport & Environment (T&E), this move could delay the production and sales of zero emission trucks (ZETs) by up to 27% by 2030, undermining Europe’s plans to decarbonize road freight.
