These automotive-grade NMC 811 multilayer pouch cells incorporate cathode active material (CAM) recovered from end-of-life EV batteries via Altilium’s EcoCathode process, achieving recycled content levels that meet EU 2036 targets. Initial tests demonstrated performance on par with conventional materials, with JLR conducting further validation. Additionally, single-layer pouch cells with 100% recycled cathode and graphite anode materials were produced and integrated into a virtual reality model of the Jaguar I-PACE battery pack, highlighting the practical application of recycled components.
