The Valkyrie, capable of flying at speeds up to 659 mph and altitudes of 45,000 feet, is designed as a collaborative combat aircraft (CCA) that can autonomously provide aerial support, divert enemy fire, and perform backup roles alongside crewed fighters like the F-35 and future F-47 jets. This initiative is part of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Uncrewed Expeditionary Tactical Aircraft (MUX TACAIR) program, which builds on prior testing by the US Air Force’s Skyborg program focused on CCAs.
