World’s first motorway that charges EVs while driving begins trials

France has launched the world’s first motorway equipped with a dynamic wireless charging system that allows electric vehicles (EVs) to recharge while driving. Located on the A10 motorway southwest of Paris, the “Charge as you drive” pilot project involves embedding coils beneath approximately 1.5 km of road to wirelessly transfer power to vehicles equipped with receiver coils.
