Xiaomi has introduced a significant redesign of its CyberOne humanoid robot’s hand, featuring a new full-palm tactile bionic hand that closely mimics human hand scale and function. The redesigned hand is 60% smaller in volume, matching the dimensions of a 1.73-meter human hand to enhance simulation-to-reality transfer in robotic manipulation training. It boasts an 83% increase in active degrees of freedom, approaching the 22 to 27 degrees typical of human hands, and incorporates full-palm tactile sensing over an 8,200 square millimeter area. This allows the robot to detect pressure and contact across the entire palm, improving manipulation capabilities even when visual sensors are obstructed, which is crucial for tasks requiring precise force control. A standout innovation in the new CyberOne hand is its liquid cooling system inspired by human sweat glands, designed to manage heat generated by the compact, high-density motors during continuous operation. The system uses 3D-printed metal channels to dissipate
